The students will explore a variety of writing strategies on a daily basis, including structured and creative writing.
Reading will be addressed through a variety of fun and engaging activities including whole class, small group, and individual opportunities.
We will finish reading and discussing Agatha Christie’s most famous murder mystery novel, And Then There Were None. Please do NOT allow your child to read the novel at home or look up who is the murderer. There will be an open notes test on Friday and the students need to submit their novel packets on Friday.

The students have three different spelling lists, depending on their skills. We have Spelling pre-quizzes on Mondays and graded quizzes on Thursdays. Please look for the “Challenge” and “High Frequency” spelling alternative word lists. They are located in the Journeys lessons link, at the bottom left. Here is a list of the 1200 most common High frequency words. These words encompass over 89% of everyday writing.
