During the course of the year we will cover the district's student learning objectives. Please click the link and view pages 38-44. The revised Alaska state standards are here. The students will explore a variety of writing strategies, including structured and creative writing. Strong emphasis will be placed on sentence structure, grammar, and syntax.
Reading will be addressed through a variety of fun and engaging activities including whole class, small group, and individual opportunities.
The students will serve as Reading Buddies with Mrs. Pilon's Kindergarten class on Tuesday afternoons, 3:00 to 3:30 PM.
Current Topics
We will begin preparing for the AK STAR test. We will not cover into Reading this week (i.e. no spelling quiz). We will continue reading and discussing The Samurai’s Tale.
