During the course of the year we will cover the district's student learning objectives. Please click the link and view pages 38-44. The revised Alaska state standards are here. The students will explore a variety of writing strategies, including structured and creative writing. Strong emphasis will be placed on sentence structure, grammar, and syntax.
Reading will be addressed through a variety of fun and engaging activities including whole class, small group, and individual opportunities.
The students will serve as Reading Buddies with Mrs. Pilon's Kindergarten class on Tuesday afternoons, 3:00 to 3:30 PM.
Current Topics
The students will write the “Letter to Future Self.” Please provide a self-addressed, forever-stamped envelope with a return address of a friend or relative who is unlikely to move in the next seven years. Please see the handout for details. Thank you.
